Altered tin

The tin contained a well known face cream in its former life! I painted it with several coats of black acrylic paint , stamped & heat embossed round the edges of the lid then rubbed over with silver wax. The embellishment in the centre is made from Das clay which has been stamped into , painted with back acrylic paint , rubbed over the raised pattern with Versamark & heat embossed with silver then rubbed with wax which gives it a sort of distressed silver look.

Collage on canvas - another oriental!

Very plain and simple this one! The background is printed onto hand made paper which gives it a soft fuzzy texture, the image added on top and the edges sponged with acrylic paint with just a smidge of glitter in it. The foremost images are highlighted with 3D gloss.

collage on canvas - oriental

The background & image on this canvas is from the Oriental Dreams cd by Joanna Sheen. The main image has been torn, edged with gold Brilliance ink & highlighted with 3D gloss finish, the edges of the canvas daubed with glue stick and heat embossed with oriental red powder to give a distressed effect. The "coin" is made with utee & a stamp then attached to some raffia.
Photo is a bit fuzzy, sorry!

Frame - Lots to Do weekly challenge

This weeks challenge was to frame something. I have made a little collage (2"x 2 1/4") set behind a piece of thick perspex, "framed" it with gold utee & added the hanger & ribbon.

Variety swap - Wish I was here!

I am hosting a monthly swap on Crafting Corner (my first one, scary!)where a different item is swapped each month. The first one ( for February) is called "Wish I was here!" The idea is to create a "postcard" of a place or holiday destination where you would really like to be.
This is mine!

Altered match boxes

Altered matchbox swap hosted by Sam on Lots to Do.Theme was distressed/Tim Holtzy! Dont own a lot of TM stuff(although I will work on that!) so have improvised!

Its a wrap!

Made this just for fun, using an A4 sheet of handmade paper, folded the long sides in about 7cm glueing them down at the ends then the one end corners to middle to make the flap. Added some braid & a button, made a small slit to tuck the flap in & voila! it is done! Add little treasures, perhaps from a day out or just some favourite bits like I have.

Mega Challenge

Mega Challenge on Lots to Do - I had to make something using card, 1 eyelet, ribbon and something orange, no words allowed!

Tags & tiles

I have been playing with the melt pot again - definately not as easy as it looks! More practice required! I find the clear utee goes a bit yellow if it is reheated for one thing and boy doesn't the utee set quick once it is out of the pot!! Anyway made the tags for a swap on Craft Swap Forum, the first one melting platinum & inter blue utee then adding gems and stamping into it with the butterfly stamp. Middle one has an image dipped in clear utee & the last just the edges dipped to give a "frame". The squares at the bottom of the picture are little tiles made in a silicone ice cube tray - I quite like those!
